My Mysterious Mademoiselle, Uncle George/George Jr., 8k, Explicit

A holiday at Deauville with a beautiful wife.

Second time writing for MMM! I definitely need to give it a break for a while, but it’s a great canon. Meta ramblings about the fic below the cut.

This has been months in waiting, and I finally get to share. I wrote two fics for the five figure fanwork exchange, both for new-to-me fandoms, and both stories which I absolutely love. And as a bonus, neither requires a ton of foreknowledge to read. ❤️

How Do You Start, Where Do You Go?
Original Work, Explicit, 11k, M/M

This 1980s road-trip fic was my first go at writing original work—no canon, no pre-existing characters, only a prompt for a grumpy straight guy falling in love with his openly-gay friend. I indulged myself in writing the American Midwest and an estranged friendship, and I ended up totally enamored of Frank and Daniel.

My Darling Nephew
My Mysterious Mademoiselle, Explicit, 10k, M/M

This fic is based on a short story (only 5k words!) from the 1860s, featuring an outrageous teen boy who crossdresses and seduces his uncle. That sounds unbelievable, but the story really is that—the only thing it doesn’t provide is the get-together for this uncle/nephew age gap ship. So I wrote that! As a pastiche of the original style! It’s a farce and a very good time.

This exchange has required more patience than I anticipated, going in. The writing period was so long, and I finished these much earlier than I probably should have given how I’m built. Still, I can’t fault the fics that came out of it. These are some of the best writing I’ve put together in a long while, and I’m so proud of them.
